Arsenal FC - The Emirates Stadium |
 |
Arsenal have now moved on from the cramped Highbury into the Emirates Stadium, which has to be said, if you like shiny toilets and nice concourses, then it's one of the best in the country.
However we doubt if many of our viewers are going to be bothered about such things, so on to the away allocation. Away fans are situated in the South-East corner of the stadium, where the normal allocation is 3,000 which is increased for Cup games. The atmosphere at the Emirates Stadium is indifferent, and rather depends on the score and opposition. Unfortunately Arsenal fans have been subjected to the rather Corporate and Americanized direction the Premier League has take, which has not only affected the price of their tickets, but also the atmosphere.
Having said that, it's a must visit at least once for any football supporter.

The Drayton Arms, London N5 1NG
Tel: ???
This is the traditional away supporters pub when travelling to Arsenal and has been since the Highbury days. The Drayton Park is located near Arsenal tube station and Drayton Park railway station. This pub overlooks the Emirates Stadium. It does however get very busy so if you are in a rush for your pint, you might want to pick elsewhere.
It's also located near the away coaches so if you are looking to avoid your "crazeeee" fans then you might want to give this one a miss. |
The Twelve Pins, 263 Seven Sisters Road, Finsbury Park, London, N4 2DE
Tel: 0208 8809 0192
Website: 12 Pins Website
Another very away friendly pub. It's a proper Irish Bar, Sky TV, a decent pint of Guinness and large screens showing the early and late kick-offs on a Saturday if that's what you are looking for.
The pub is very busy on a matchday but the service is slick and you are never waiting long for your next pint. It is opposite Finsbury Park tube station so has always been popular with away fans looking for a pint on arrival. It's only a 10 minute walk to the Emirates Stadium from this pub. |
The Blackstock, Finsbury Park, London N4 2DL
Tel:
The Blackstock is opposite the 12 Pins pub and just outside Finsbury Park tube station. It is a large enough pub with big screens showing sport. This pub away and home fans tend to mix ok.
It is around a 10 minute walk to the Emirates Stadium from here. Alternatively beer is served inside the stadium. |

London Nightlife Guide Coming Soon!
Rail: Holloway Road Underground station is closed on matchdays as the station cannot cope with matchday crowds. As a result the nearest tube is Arsenal Station, which is the next stop. It is only a few minutes walk from here to the stadium.
Other tube stations in walking distance of the stadium are Finsbury Park on the Piccadilly Line and Highbury & Islington on the Victoria Line.
Otherwise you can take an overland train to Finsbury Park Railway Station from London Kings Cross. It is then about a 10 to 15 minute walk from Finsbury Park to the stadium.
Leave the M1 at Junction 2 and onto the A1, following the signs for City (Central London). Keep going on the A1 for around six miles, until you see Holloway Road Tube Station on your right. Take the next left at the traffic lights into Hornsey Road and the stadium is about a 1/4 of a mile further down this road.
There is very little parking close to the Emirates Stadium, we would suggest parking somewhere like Cockfosters and catching the tube in. Residents permit schemes are in force and as you are in London, if you park somewhere you shouldn't be, they'll happily remove your car without warning.
