Aston Villa FC - Villa Park

Villa Park is one of the better stadiums in the league, often hosting F.A Cup Semi-Finals before they were moved to Wembley, housing 43,000 fans and also home to the famous Holte End, there is often a decent atmosphere at Villa Park.

Away fans are situated in The Doug Ellis Stand which runs along the side of the pitch. The allocation is split into upper and lower tiers so if you are going as a group then get your tickets together to ensure being in the same part of the stand. Alcohol is served inside the ground and the game is shown on wide screen TV's if you feel the need to pop down on 35 minutes to get your half-time pint but still want to keep an eye on the game.

There is little segregation between home and away fans which can provide good banter.

 The Pub Guide

The Witton Arms, Witton Road, Aston, Birmingham

The Witton Arms used to be known as the Cap & Gown and is the traditional away pub for fans visiting Villa Park. There is a seperate entrance for away fans and the pub is shared with the Villa fans. It is only 2 minutes walk away from the entrance to the away end. There is a charge of £3 to come in this pub on a matchday.

There have been reports that the pub is a bit ropey, as are the bar staff and the service. Let us know your thoughts.

The Barton Arms, High Street, Aston, Birmingham, B6 5UP
Tel: 01213 335988

The Barton Arms is about a 15 minute walk to Villa Park on the main Aston High Street. It's a traditional old school pub, lots of old stuff and a Victorian character. They do food in the pub and it has good reports. If you do like your Ales then you will see it gets a mention in the CAMRA good food guide.

The Yew Tree, Brookvale Road, Witton, Birmingham B6 7AS
Tel: 0121 356 1751

An alternative pub is The Yew Tree on Brookvale Road which is close to Witton Station if you are coming in by train.

There are other pubs in the area which you may want to take a look at, and if you are coming in from Birmingham New Street you might want to stay in the central chain pubs and get a cab to Villa Park ( around £8 )

Please note there is no beer served inside Villa Park
