 Birmingham City - St Andrews

Away fans are allocated one side of the Gil Merrick Stand, in the lower tier. The normal allocation being 3,000. Obviously bear in mind that in the upper tier are the Birmingham City fans, so it is not un-common for the odd object to make their way down to the travelling support. The close proximity to the fans to the side as well makes for good atmosphere.

Alcohol is served inside the ground, Fosters at £3.20 a pint. The home fans can generate quite a bit of noise on their day so this can contribute to a vibrant atmosphere inside the stadium, but if their team is not doing well, then the Birmingham City faithful can fall into silence quite quickly.

The Wellington Pub , Bennetts Hill, Birmingham B2 5SN
Tel: 0121 200 3115
Website: www.thewellingtonrealale.co.uk

The Wellington is a popular pub with away fans, especially those who prefer to drink Ale over Lager, with 15 different ales on tap. The pub doesn't serve food, however they don't mind if you want to bring your own in. The Wellington is about a 15 minute walk to St Andrews.

The Anchor, 308 Bradford Street, Digbeth, Birmingham, B5 6ET
Tel: 0121 622 4516
Website: www.anchorinndigbeth.co.uk

This is another pub within a reasonable distance of the ground. It is shared with Birmingham fans but is reported as being a friendly pub. It has been 3 times Birmingham CAMRA pub of the year so if you like Ales then you'll like this place.

The pub is situated behind Digbeth Bus Station.

The Briars Rose, 25 Bennetts Hill, Birmingham B2 5RE
Tel: 0121 634 8100
Website: The Briar Rose

The Briar Rose is a JD Wetherspoons pub on Bennetts Hill, around a 15 minute walk from St Andrews. It welcomes away fans and of course is popular with drinkers looking for a cheap pint and some breakfast/lunch.

As you can imagine, this pub can get busy so if you want a table, you're best to get there early.

 Public Transport

Rail: The nearest railway station is Bordesley, which is a 10 minute walk from St Andrews, although this is a local line service, so it is more likely that your train will come in at Birmingham New Street.

Birmingham New Street is about a 20 minute walk from St Andrews.

 Directions

Leave the M6 at Junction 6 and take the A38(M) for Birmingham City Centre. Take the second turn for Inner Ring Road, turning left onto Inner Ring Road East, signposted Coventry and continue along for 2 miles, passing through three roundabouts until you reach the fourth, at which you should turn left in Coventry Road, heading towards Small Heath. St Andrews is on your left around 1/4 of a mile up the road.

 Parking

There is a secure Car Park directly outside the away fans entrance at St Andrews should you wish to park as close as possible. The official coaches also park in here, so if you have a sizeable support then you may struggle for a place to park. There is plenty of street parking if you are prepared to walk 5-10 minutes to the stadium.

Parking is normally full around 1 hour before kick-off, so if you are running late then take advantage of the various schools and business car parks in tha vacinity of St Andrews.
