Bolton Wanderers - The Reebok Stadium |
 |
The Reebok Stadium is one of the better stadiums which have been built in recent years, certainly alot more thought went into the design that the flat-pack stadiums at Middlesbrough, Leicester etc.
Away fans are held in the South Stand which holds around 3,000 people. The stand is next to the more vocal Bolton fans in the East Stand so there is plenty of opportunity for banter with the locals. Although one word of note... the police in Bolton have adopted the all too common "family values" , so if you are seen commiting the serious crime of "throwing the V" then you can expect to be ejected from the ground at the very least.
The stewards are not alot better, so if you are travelling in a large group and having a few beers on the way, you can expect to be a few men down by full time!

The Beehive, 991 Chorley New Road, Bolton BL6 4BA
Tel: 01204 692104
The Beehive is a designated away fans pub and as a result, provides a great atmosphere for your pre-match pint. The pub has Sky Sports and ESPN if you are wanting to catch the lunch kick-off before you head down to the Reebok Stadium.
There is a car park where they will allow you to park your car or minibus free of charge if you are drinking in the pub and food is generally served inside. |
The Bromilow Arms, Lostock Lane, Bolton BL6 4BP
Tel: 01204 697541
The Bromilow is only a short step away from the Reebok Stadium, as a result this makes it popular with away supporters. The pub serves food and has a country feel to it. It is shared with home fans but there is rarely trouble.
For a small charge you can also park your car or minibus in the pub as well. |
The Barnstormers, Lostock Lane, Bolton, BL6 4BL
Tel: 01204 691797
Another relaxed pub which has been popular with away fans and is just a short distance from The Reebok Stadium. Sky Sports and ESPN are available in the pub and food is served all day.
There is plenty of space in the pub and home and away fans mix freely.
Alcohol is served inside the stadium at the discretion of the Police |
Rail: Bolton is located on the Manchester loop of the West Coast Mainline and is served by Virgin West Coast trains passing through Manchester Piccadilly. There are also regular local services.
Horwich Parkway is the closest station to the Reebok Stadium and is around a 5 minute walk from the stadium.
From the South: Go on the M6 to Junction 21a, take the eastbound M62 and exit at Junction 12. Follow the signs for the M61 ( Bolton/Preston ) and leave the M61 motorway at Junction 6. You will be able to see the ground clearly from here and there are plenty of signs.
From the North: Take the M6 to Junction 29, then taking the M65 towards Blackburn. Leave the M65 at Junction 2 and join the M61 towards Manchester. Leave the M61 motorway at Junction 6. You will be able to see the ground clearly from here and there are plenty of signs.
There are 2000 spaces at the ground, including a specific away area. Because of the out of town location of the Reebok Stadium, there is not many other alternatives if you are wanting to park within a reasonable distance of the stadium. Getting out of the Car Park after the game can take a while as a result.
