Away fans at Ashton Gate are housed in the Wedlock Stand which is a converted terrace at one end of the stadium. The normal allocation is 2,800. The louder element of Bristol City's home support share the stand with away fans which can make for a decent atmosphere and good banter throughout the day.
Bristol is a decent city with good nightlife if you are thinking of making a weekend of it. The only drawback is the lack of away friendly pubs within close proximity of Ashton Gate.

The Pumphouse is a large pub which is popular with away fans when visiting Ashton Gate. It is quite a step to the ground from this pub, but due to the lack of away friendly pubs in the immediate area of Ashton Gate, this is one of your better options.
Another very away friendly pub. The Nova Scotia is a decent size pub on the waterfront which is popular with away supporters. Food is served as well if you're looking for a bite to eat. It is around a 10-15 minute walk to Ashton Gate from this pub.
NO ALCOHOL IS SERVED INSIDE THE GROUND
Public Transport
Rail: The nearest railway station to Ashton Gate is Parson Street which is a 10 minute walk to the ground. However you won't find many trains stopping at this station and you will probably arrive at Bristol Temple Meads instead which is around 2 miles to the ground if you're feeling fit ( or in a police escort ) or a £6 taxi.
Directions
Leave the M5 at Junction 18, and travel along the A4 ( Portway ) following signs for Bristol Airport/Taunton on the A38. Pass over the swing bridge on Brunel Way, turning left into Winterstoke Road and you will see Ashton Gate on your left.
Parking
There is limited street parking close to Ashton Gate, and most areas are permit holders parking only or they have double yellow lines. There is a large Car Park at Bedminster Cricket Club on Clanage Road which will allow you to park there for around £5. It's less than 10 minutes walk to the stadium from here.
Good atmosphere, easy access from surrounding area, helpful stewards inside. There is only one place to buy food inside so service is slow at half-time.
