Coventry have moved into a plush new 32,500 capacity Ricoh Arena which is certainly a step up from their previous home. Away fans are housed in the South Stand, which holds 3,000 supporters. The stadium can produce a decent atmosphere on it's day and the acoustics are good.
The Ricoh Arena is an out of town stadium though, so on the downside there are not many decent pubs and it's a taxi ride / shuttle bus to the stadium, which is over 3 miles from Coventry Train Station.

The Black Horse is an away friendly pub situated between Longford and Exhall. It is still a fair old walk to the Ricoh Arena from here and is 4.5 miles from Coventry Train Station, so not a pub to consider unless you are coming in by minibus, in which case it is one of the closest pubs to the stadium!
If you are coming in by train, this pub is one of the closest to Coventry Rail Station. Offering food throughout the day and reasonably priced grub if you are hungry, it's a good place to meet up before heading on one of the Shuttle Buses up to the Ricoh Arena. If you are staying in Coventry for the night, it also doubles up as a nightclub so you might want to pop in and check it out before returning in the evening.

The Earl of Mercia is your local Wetherspoons fix, located in the centre of Coventry it is a large 'Lloyds Bar' establishment. Open from 8am and serving food and cheap beer all day, it's a good place to head if you are coming in on the train. Obviously note you will need a taxi or the shuttle bus to take you up to the Ricoh Arena in time for kick-off.
Public Transport
Rail: Coventry train station is over 3 miles from the Ricoh Arena, so your options of getting to the ground from there will either be the Shuttle Bus which depart from the bus station in town, which run every 10 minutes and cost £3 return. Alternatively jump in a taxi for around £6.
If you get the shuttle bus though, expect a large queue for the buses back to the City Centre after the game.
Directions
Exit the M6 at Junction 3 and take the A444 towards the City Centre, after 1 mile you will see the Ricoh Arena on your left. Yes, it's that simple.
Parking
As you would expect from an 'out of town' stadium, there is plenty of parking, either using the Park and Ride services or some of the private car parks surrounding the stadium. There are plenty of official CCFC Car Parks around the stadium at the cost of £5 per vehicle.
There is a retail park and Tesco nearby but restrictions do apply so it's best to play it safe and not park in these areas.
