 Crystal Palace - Selhurst Park

The away end at Selhurst Park is situated in one side of the Arthur Wait Stand, however unlike previous, when you have been situated next to the more 'vocal' Crystal Palace fans, they have now moved the away supporters to the other end, by the family enclosure, which obviously makes for a bit less banter.

Crystal Palace is a decent away game to go to, pre-match drinks around the London Bridge area and a pretty relaxed atmosphere around Selhurst Park, it makes for a decent Saturday afternoon.

 The Pub Guide

Flora Sandes, Ambassador House, Thornton Heath, London, CR7 7JG
Tel: 020 8689 6277
Website: JD Wetherspoon

The Flora Sandes is located directly opposite Thornton Heath underground station. As a result it is popular with away fans. It's open from 9am and serves food all day as well. As you'd expect from a Wetherspoons, the beer is cheap and there is plenty of space.

The William Stanley, South Norwood, London, SE25 6EP
Tel: 020 8653 0678
Website: JD Wetherspoon

If you are getting off the tube at Norwood Junction then this is a popular pub with away fans. Being a Wetherspoons it is open early, plenty of space and cheap beer. From the station turn right at the clock tower into the High Street and you will arrive at the pub.

The Ship, 55 High Street, South Norwood, London, SE25 6EF
Tel: 020 8653 2079

The Ship is a popular pub with away fans visiting Selhurst Park, it is located just round the corner from Norwood Junction overland Railway Station which is a 15 minute walk to the stadium. The pub boasts Sky TV and although it is popular with home fans as well, there are generally no reports of trouble in this pub.

 Public Transport

Rail: The closest railway stations to Selhurst Park are Thornton Heath or Selhurst, both of which are served by trains from London Victoria, Clapham Junction and London Bridge ( only every 30 minutes from this station, so if you are drinking in London Bridge, check train times prior to avoid wasting drinking time waiting for the train ). An alternative with better pub options is Norwood Junction, although this station is a slightly longer walk at around 15 minutes.

Please note Crystal Palace Railway Station is nowhere near Selhurst Park

 Directions
Leave the M25 at Junction 7, following the A23 which is signposted towards Croydon. At Purley take the left fork, staying on the A23 instead of going on the A235 ( Croydon ) . Go straight across at roundabouts with the A232 and A236, after this the A23 forks left into Thornton Heath. Go straight over onto Brigstock Road, passing Thornton Heath Station, and turn right onto the High Street. At the next roundabout Whitehorse Road/Grange Road , turn left into Whitehorse Lane. The ground will now be on your right.
 Parking

Most of the parking around Selhurst is residents permit parking or is pay and display with a 4 hour limit. There is some matchday private football parking in the area. Traffic can be heavy in the area so you may want to park a couple of stations down the line and catch the train in.
