Manchester United - Old Trafford |
 |
Old Trafford needs no introduction. It is the largest capacity domestic stadium in the country. Roy Keane may well have been right when he slated the "Prawn Sandwich Brigade" but Old Trafford is still a special stadium and one you must visit at some point if you get the chance.
The corporate focus does subdue the atmosphere somewhat, but when the Old Trafford faithful are in full voice, there are not many stadiums in the world that could rival Manchester United's for noise, the atmosphere can only be described as electric.
Away fans allocation is in the South-East corner of Old Trafford, where the allocation is generally 3,000. The views are good and it is easy to create some atmosphere from the away end, although you are outnumbered 20/1 by home fans so you will have to shout pretty loud to drown out the United fans.

Manchester City Centre
Website: www.manchesterbars.com
Due to there being a lack of pubs around the stadium, you might want to think about staying in Manchester City Centre and taking a taxi ( about £7 ) or taking a 40 minute walk to the City of Manchester stadium.

The Printworks, Corporation Street, Manchester
Website: www.theprintworks.com
Due to the lack of decent pubs around the ground, one suggestion would be the Printworks in Manchester City Centre, close to Manchester Victoria train station. There is plenty of pubs in the area and lots of places to grab a bite to eat. There is also a connecting tram. |

You will also find parking easier in this area, should you be arriving by car of minibus. |
