The away allocation at Rochdale is in the Willbutts Lane Stand, which is now known as the Westrose Leisure Stand. Up to 3,600 fans can be accomodated in this stand and sometimes it is shared with the locals. A visit to Rochdale is generally a friendly one and you won't get much trouble from the locals. The reports about the stewarding is positive and if you are looking for somewhere a bit different for a weekender, then you could do a lot worse than choose Rochdale.

The Church is generally the designated pub for away supporters visiting Spotland. It serves bar snacks but not main meals, has Sky and a Pool table and is just up the road from the visitors entrance in to the stadium, making it popular with away fans. There is a decent chippy opposite if you're feeling peckish as well, which comes with good reviews!

This pub is actually part of the stadium, so if you arrive late then pop in here for a pint. It has a mixture of home and away fans and serves lager and all the normal stuff you'd find in the concourse. It has 2 TV screens and opens from 11:30am on matchdays and 6pm for evening games. |
Rail: It is quite a walk to Spotland from the train station ( around 40 minutes ) so you might want to jump in a taxi once you've had a few beers around town. There's plenty of pubs around the station area to explore before you make your way up to the stadium.
From M62: Exit the M62 at junction 20. At the roundabout turn left, following the signs for Rochdale A627(M). After approx. 1 mile, by the B&Q (Sandbrook Park), turn left at the traffic lights into Edinburgh Way, following the signs for Bury A644 (A58). At next roundabout, take second exit into Roch Valley Way, signposted Blackburn B6452 (the stadium is signposted from here!). At the crossroads by the Cemetery pub continue straight on into Sandy Lane. The ground is about half a mile along, on the right hand side.
From North: Follow the M65-A56-A680 Rochdale Road. Continue on A680 into the Rochdale, Norden area. At the double mini-roundabout by the Turf Tavern continue straight on. Continue past the Lancashire Lass and Star Inn pubs, to the crossroads/lights. Turn right here into Sandy Lane, following the signs for Bury (B6452), Manchester (M62). Take the first left into Willbutts Lane for the ground entrance.
Car parking at Spotland is now for permit holders only so you will have to find nearby street parking or use the matchday parking facility at Oulder Hill School. The school is on the way to the stadium on the left hand side along Sandy Lane which is a 10 minute walk to Spotland.
Always check streets for any restrictions before walking off. There are numerous residents only parking areas near the stadium.
