The Stadium of Light is home to Sunderland and replaced Roker Park in 1997. Away fans are located in the Metro FM Stand which comprises of 2 tiers. Generally the allocation is 3,000.
The atmosphere at the Stadium of Light can be indifferent, it can be quiet some times, however on their day, Sunderland fans can make the atmosphere electric. The stewarding can also be strict, and they have been known to eject supporters for the most minor offences, so don't push your luck once inside the stadium!

The William Jameson is the place to go if you want your Wetherspoon fix. The atmosphere in the pub is great and of course the beer is cheap. The pub opens at 8am if your team has an early kick-off, so it's a great place to be first thing in the morning. |

The Stadium of Light is within walking distance of the centre of Sunderland, so you may want to venture into town where you will find a better choice of pub.

Rail: Sunderland train station is about a ten minute walk from the Stadium of Light, it is linked with many mainline routes as well as the metro. Seaburn is a similar distance to the Stadium of Light.
Metro: St Peters and Stadium of Light Metro stations are both within easy reach of the ground. If you are heading back to Newcastle after the game then you will need to head to Stadium of Light Metro Station after the match.
Bus: There are numerous buses serving the Stadium of Light. 2,3,4,12,13,15 and 16 all stop within easy reach of the stadium.
If coming from the A1 then exit at Junction 62 and take the A690 towards Sunderland. Continue for 7 miles until you approach a roundabout, then turn left onto the A19. Stay in the left hand lane and take the second exit signposted Stadium of Light. This takes you onto a bridge crossing over the River Wear. It is signposted all the way from there.
Sunderland operate a Park and Ride service as parking around the Stadium of Light is limited. The ground is a 15 minute walk from the City Centre so you may want to park there and walk in.
